The Wellcome Foot-and-Mouth Disease Vaccine Laboratory, Pirbright, Woking, Surrey, GU24 0NQ

Studies of the Uga 6/70 strain of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) virus, type SAT 2, using the haemagglutination-inhibiting antibody consumption (HIC) test, have demonstrated the existence of trypsin-sensitive determinants on the intact virus particle and the 12S protein subunit.
