In the Methods section entitled 'Inhibition of CPE by VLPs', the second sentence should read as follows:
Monolayer cells (80–90 % confluent) were washed with D-PBS (2·67 mM potassium chloride, 1·47 mM potassium phosphate, 138 mM sodium chloride, 8·1 mM sodium phosphate, pH 7·3) and incubated with 5 µg VLPs at 27 ºC for 30 min.
