Front cover illustration
Large amounts of matured SARS coronavirus (SARS CoV) particles are visible in swollen Golgi sacs in infected Vero cells at 30 h post-infection. Minimal Golgi membrane whorls are present and virus particles are extruded in large quantities at this stage of infection. For more information, see the article on proliferative growth of SARS CoV in Vero E6 cells by M.-L. Ng and others on pages 3291-3303 of this issue.
