Front cover illustration
1-Cinnamoyl-3,11-dihydroxymeliacarpin (CDM), a natural compound isolated from leaf extracts of Melia azedarach L., exerts an antiviral action on the endocytic and exocytic pathways of vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV). The front cover shows confocal microscopy images of Vero cells transfected with a plasmid containing the GalT2-GFP cDNA (green), infected with VSV and treated with CDM. G-protein was detected by using an anti-rabbit TRITC secondary antibody (red). VSV-G fluorescence co-localized with GalT2-GFP (yellow) revealing that glycoprotein G is confined to the Golgi complex after CDM treatment. See the article by Barquero et al. on pp. 483-493.
